The XXV International Congress of the International Academy of Pathology was voted a great success by the delegates with comments being made on the very high quality of the scientific programme. The main complaint made was that it was too hard to decide between attending concurrent sessions.
The Congress featured world-renowned speakers from many countries and the interaction between people from more than 50 countries proved extremely beneficial to visiting delegates and to the Brisbane people who benefited from the visit of many scientists with whom they were able to exchange ideas, and in some cases, establish new collaborative activities. The city of Brisbane benefited from the financial spin-off of having about 2000 visitors for the week of October 10-15.
Many delegates took advantage of the beautiful weather to take in sight-seeing trips, including to see the visiting whales.
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is a world class facility, and this was appreciated by the delegates who especially enjoyed the very smooth and efficient way in which the projection facilities operated. All presentations used digital projection and there were no hitches, something that the experienced speakers appreciated.
Many experienced speakers commented on the administrative and technical innovations that were introduced by the organisers, including the manner of presentation of the slide seminars for the Congress.
