Slide Seminar Series 3
In the third in the Slide Seminar Series, Professor Sylvia L. Asa presents 12 cases in endocrinology. These are demonstrated with a book and CD ROM which contain high quality images.
The accompanying cd rom contains: clinical histories; an image library which can be quickly scrolled through (scanned) and enlarged for closer examination; a space for the participant to type the diagnosis.
The Contributor's Diagnosis is protected by a password.
Cases are:
Case 1 - F/34 years. A long-standing history of goitre with asymmetrical nodularity more prominent on the right.
Case 2 - F/55 years. A 2.5 cm left thyroid nodule found on routine examination.
Case 3 - F/30 years. A 2 year history of classical Graves' disease.
Case 4 - F/54 years. A longstanding history of nodular goitre.
Case 5 - F/34 years. An incidental thyroid nodule found by her family doctor at her annual examination.
Case 6 - F/ 52 years. A longstanding history of Hashimoto's thyroiditis that developed after her first pregnancy.
Case 7 - F/46 years. An asymptomatic thyroid nodule that was detected on routine annual examination.
Case 8 - F/39 years. A 2 cm right thyroid nodule that was detected by the patient.
Case 9 - F/ 67 years. A six month history of a right thyroid nodule that was non-tender and mobile.
Case 10 - F/56 years. Noted a neck lump and attended her family doctor for investigation.
Case 11 - F/61 years. Diagnosed with renal failure due to IgA nephropathy in late 2001.
Case 12 - F/ 42 years. A member of a kindred with known von Hippel-Lindau disease.
Following the Contributor's Diagnosis there is a commentary on each case. The book contains all of the above, plus a page of images from each case and space for notes.
