CASE 1: A 54-year old male presented with an irregular lesion of the back.

CASE 2: A 79-year-old female with a history of myelodysplasia, presented in May, 2002 with a large irregular pigmented lesion located between the scapulae.

CASE 3: A 43-year old male presented with an itchy raised firm grey lesion 8 mm in diameter on the upper mid back of unknown duration.

CASE 4: A 33-year-old female presented to her general practitioner with a pigmented lesion on her left lower eyelid. The biopsy tissue was interpreted as a melanoma with a thickness of 1.5 mm. A sentinel lymph node from the parotid region was submitted for examination.

CASE 5: A 17-year old male presented with a recurrent 'mole' on the right upper arm.

CASE 6: A 48-year-old male presented with a heavily pigmented plaque on the ankle measuring 2 cm in diameter. The lesion was noticed five years before and enlarged progressively since then.

CASE 7: An asymptomatic 53-year-old male with no prior history of melanoma or other tumors came to a dermatologist for a large mole over the right flank.

CASE 8: A 72-year-old male presented with a variably pigmented papule 3 mm in diameter on the right thigh. This was excised.

CASE 9: A 27-year-old previously healthy male of Scandinavian descent presented with a pigmented lesion on the back of his scalp.

CASE 10: A 72-year-old male presented with a rapidly growing lesion on his scalp. He was a renal transplant recipient Physical examination showed a large ulcerated tumour measuring 3 x 3 cm. This was excised and there was a local recurrence 12 months later.
