Bone Marrow Pathology is made up of 10 cases which will be presented as a slide seminar at the 25th International Congress of the IAP in Brisbane, October 2004.

CASE 1: An 80-year-old diabetic female presented with renal failure (creatinine 301 mmol/L) and anaemia (Hb 7.0 g/L). She was found to have IgG lambda paraproteinaemia (53 g/L). A small band of Bence Jones protein was present.

CASE 2: A 64-year-old male presented with heart failure. He was found to have an IgA kappa paraproteinaemia (IgA 18.5 g/L) and a trace of Bence Jones protein.

CASE 3: This bone marrow biopsy is from a young girl who was dysmaturely born at 37 weeks. She developed recurrent respiratory infections.

CASE 4: A 60-year-old female presented with several months history of malaise, abdominal pain and distension. On examination, massive splenomegaly was found.

CASE 5: A 39-year-old man showed slowly progressing enlargement of the bilateral cervical, axillary and mediastinal lymph nodes.

CASE 7: A 66-year-old Caucasian man presented with pancytopenia of six months with normal B12, folate and iron levels. The patient looked anemic.

CASE 8: A 38-year-old man presented with prolonged fever and pancytopenia. There was no hepatosplenomegaly. Bone marrow biopsy was done. HIV serology was positive.

CASE 9: A 50-year-old man showed generalized peripheral lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly and massive 'dramatic' hemorrhagic diathesis in association with severe pancytopenia.
