IAP Slide Seminar Series
Prostate Pathology is made up of 11 cases which will be presented as a slide seminar at the 25th International Congress of the IAP in Brisbane, October 2004.

CASE 1: A 71-year-old Caucasian man presented September, 1992 with a one-year history of increasing urinary obstructive symptoms.

CASE 2: A 65-year-old man with a history of CIS (carcinoma in situ) involving the bladder developed a prostatic induration and underwent a needle biopsy of the prostate.

CASE 3: An 80-year-old man with adenocarcinoma of the prostate, Gleason score 3 + 3 = 6 was treated with brachytherapy. Two years following his radiotherapy treatment, his serum PSA levels started to rise and a biopsy was performed.

CASE 4: This 26-year-old male presented with 'lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)' of several months duration. Cystoscopy was performed and he was noted to have a nodule in the central zone of the prostate projecting into the neck of the bladder.

CASE 5: A 52-year-old male presented to hospital with symptoms of feeling unwell with vague abdominal pain and mild dysuria of a few weeks duration.

CASE 8: A 66-year-old male was referred to his urologist after a routine PSA screening test was found to be elevated, with a serum PSA of 4.8mmol/L.

CASE 9: A 76-year-old man presented with symptoms of urinary outflow obstruction and haematuria. Digital rectal examination findings were normal.

CASE 10: A 67-year-old male first presented at the urology clinic with microscopic hematuria and perineal discomfort.

CASE 11: A 24-year-old male presented in June, 2000 with vague symptoms including erectile dysfunction, orchalgia and dysuria. Examination revealed an irregularly enlarged prostate and a small varicocele.
